Dennis is traveling weekly to Pittsburgh through the end of July, so he probably won't have time off. That'll be two years in a row; last year I was nursing him back to health!
However, Deron and I will at least make it to Atlanta with Michelle and Zach to catch DCI. Oh...and Deron is looking forward to spending a little time with some cute southern belles from the area.
Kevin is always on the go as well. He has been in South Florida for the past 6 months and will be doing more traveling in the coming months. He asked me the other day if I had made any plans for our anniversary this month. I had to tell him no because I did not know where he was going to be. We are scheduled to take a trip to Hawaii in February to see the whales and the volcanos though. Hotel and flights are booked and paid for. Woo Hoo!
Have you been to Hawaii before? I earned a trip for two with a company I used to work with "back in the day". Hawaii is amazing! What a fun trip that will be.
Nope, never been there. We are really looking forward to it. We have plans to take a boat trip from Oahu to see the whales, a bike trip down the volcano on the big island and renting a motorcycle on Maui. Kevin wants us to make our own Corona commercial. Lazy on the beach. :-) I'm really excited.
Well....I consider myself a travelling Mom....but my choice is by land so I can stop along the way and see the back scenery. I have been doing this for the last 2 years. This year my travel plans are limited due to high influx of gas prices, airfare ( not to mention you have to pay for your own chair, luggage as well as $2.00 drinks in the plane). My first encounter with the airline dilemma was not too long ago. I found an affordable R/T airfare United for New Hampton/Orlando to see Leena on the 20th before they start their tour and from there rented a car so I will be travelling to Maine, New England, Rhode Island, Boston, NY and back to New Hampton to Orlando. One day after I have booked my flight United cancelled all the flights. I Had purchased an extra insurance.....thank God....so United was kind enough to book a flight thru Continental. And yes....you guess it...the next day that flight was cancelled because of cutbacks. Well, I told United to just credit me and decided not to go. So there is no way we can win with gas prices as well as plane ticket. So have decided to just go mini travels all around Florida. After Orlando show....will be heading to Atlanta. Depending on what Bill's plans are we might drive early enough going to Championships in Indiana. Stop on the way to Georgia, Kentucky, Tennssee, Illinois, Ohio and maybe Chicago.
How's our Orlando show coming along??? Leena wanted to see everyone at that show.
She's in weapon line this year ( saber).

I know how you feel. Gas seems to be putting a damper on a lot of travel plans. We have family coming in a few weeks from Germany and I know we will be spending some money on gas to see all the Florida things. Luckily they only want to go to Sea World and Busch Gardens, so we don't have to pay for all the Disney parks this time around.
We've already had our vacation this summer tagging along with the Rohleder crew to Germany, Austria and Hungary. As usual these EF Tours are pretty awesome. Along with my daughters Lauren and Hope other band folks who attended that you may know were Marty Rohleder, his parents, Jan Case, Holly Stallard, the Hansens (Pam, John, Phoebe and Olivia), Celine Parietti and Hector Brignoni.
Some of the highlights were seeing the Alps, visiting the palaces of Ludwig II including Neuschwanstein, said to be the model for Cinderella's Castle. A tour of filming locations for the Sound of Music and Mozart's birthplace in Salzburg and a cruise on the Danube. A good time was had by all.
The kids and I are going to the Keys right after Band Camp for a few days. My brother rents a house for the month on the canal which leads to Vaca Cut (just north of the 7 mile bridge). He invites family and friends down for different weeks of the month. Ryan and Heather LOVE it, we go out on his boat for lobstering and snorkeling in the morning and don't get back until late in the afternoon - we then cook the lobster we've caught for dinner!! Yum... It's so relaxing, we hate to come home.
