UHS

Hi All:

I need your prayers. This morning two of our students at school were involved in a very serious auto accident. Raul Otero who is our Drum Major in the band is in critical condition and Randi Shaller is in serious condition. The young lady who caused the accident is also in critical condition. Please keep them and their family in your prayers.

I heard that the other girl was Eric Santana's sister, so all have a tie to UHS.

It was reported that Randi had two broken legs and a broken hip. If anyone
has updates on the others, please post here.

Brittnie told me they had Randi in surgery last night to put pins in. It sounds like she had quite a few broken bones. Her last update on Raul was that he was responding, but had swelling and bleeding in his brain. He has not yet been able to move his arms or legs, but I do not have a lot of details, so please keep him in prayers and keep positive thoughts.
I understand there will be a prayer service tonight and the families are allowing students to visit. I am sure it will be limited and monitored by the hospital staff. I do not know which hospital it is, Mr. Jennings and Mr. Obado have been there. Perhaps they can share more.

This is the last update I have from Chris Pabon:

Hey Guys, Just another update. So far..Raul is able to move his legs and arms. His pupils are responsive. Yet, he has bleeding in his Brain. Please let people know about the situation and ask for their Prayers.

I heard the news yesterday. I was wondering if a group or someone will be visiting the family at the hospital. I called ORMC and will not release any information. Our thoughts and prayers are with Raul, Randi and Eric's sister. We really feel sadden about the whole situation. Such great and wonderful kids. God bless them and hope for them to have a healthy recovery. Please let me know what or how we can help.

I just heard the news today on the email. What a unfortunate situation! Let us all light a candle 24/7 for these wonderful kids. It is well known that if all of us light a candle that somehow...they will find the rays of the light to give them courage and hope. I will also be offering a mass for them. Thank you to Sue and to all who posted this news in this alumni site.

Correction: Lisa said the other lady was Eric's cousin, not sister.

Where will the prayer service be held? Anyone know?

There will be a Prayer at Rauls House @ 6:30PM.

Address:1931 Stonecrest Ct 32825
As stated, Raul was bleeding from the Brain. They drilled a hole in his skull to release some pressure in his head. As far as how well is he doing. Raul is doing better. He is beginning to recognize the voices of people. He is still able to move his legs and arms as well as his eyes. As of right now, no one is allowed to see him only his parents.
As for Randi, she undergone surgery and has been placed in a Room. As for guest, she really doesnt want to be seen by anyone other than her parents.Keep Praying.

I will be making some sort of graphic in Honor of our Randi and Raul so be on the look out for that everyone. I guess that is the only way I could really show that I am praying for them. It allows me to let go some stress...

Raul and Randi "Will never Walk Alone" cuz they have the UHS Cougar Band & Guard behind them 100%.Times like this makes me proud to have taken part in such a Prestige Band cuz no matter what happens WE "UHS Band & Guard" are all in this together.

Chris and Paul,

Thank you so much for keeping us all updated.

Please let the families know that we're here to help in any way we can: from providing rides to providing meals.

Chris, your comments about the band and "You'll Never Walk Alone" brought tears to my eyes. You guys are a family and this is just one example of it.
